We now have an opportunity for an Operations Services and Restoration Team Lead who will work within our Operations Directorate to help deliver the transition of Ireland and Northern Ireland's electricity sector to low - carbon, renewable energy.

The Opportunity:

The Operations function comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce.

The core responsibility of Operations is to manage the operation of the power system ensuring that the lights stay on in a secure, reliable, sustainable and economic way.


System Support & Analysis is an all island team that manages the Imperfections budgets, Tariffs, commissioning and testing of units, oversees services, emergency planning and provides support to real time and market functions, while supporting DS3 System Services and the SEM in an evolving and challenging operational environment.


We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to join our team as Operations Services and Restoration Team Lead and play a key role in developing the System Support & Analysis Team within Operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Allocate tasks to the team ensuring ontime delivery of work to a high standard
  • Manage contractual matters and ensure all settlement data is auditable
  • Implement performance monitoring processes within agreed timelines and lead the investigation on challenges and disputes
  • Developing of new tools and processes for monitoring of DS3 System Services
  • Ensure the smooth running of the procurement process for DS3 System Services and forecasting of future spend
  • Ensure all the power system restoration obligations including Network Code requirements are met
  • Ensure all TSO data required for the market is sent within required timelines
  • Publication of renewable constraint and curtailment reports to customers

Skills & Experience:


  • Engineering Degree with 8 years relevant experience with demonstrated technical proficiency
  • Power system industry expertise and experience
  • Ability to successfully deliver large volume of tasks, error free, in a timely manner
  • Ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on ability to communicate technical issues confidently
  • Ability to successfully guide, persuade and influence others through developed skills of communication and diplomac
  • Capable of making decisions impacting the department within the objectives and strategy guidelines of the organisation
