We are looking for applicants with a passion for delivering the highest quality of Stroke Rehabilitation and Care to join our team.


Rehabilitation assistants in our service work under the direction of stroke specialist therapists to deliver planned integrated therapy sessions, working towards patient-led goals.

The team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologist and Speech & Language Therapists, work closely with Nursing colleagues to provide a high-quality service to enable patients to reach their rehabilitation potential.

Our team of rehabilitation assistants provide a seven day service.


The In-Patient Stroke Specialist Rehabilitation Unit is based at the Vale Community Hospital in Dursley, and provides Gloucestershire residents a dedicated Therapy Led Specialist service in a Community Hospital environment.


You should have experience of healthcare environments, an interest in Stroke rehabilitation and a passion for working closely with people.

Team working is key to the success of our Stroke Unit, upholding Trust values on a daily basis.


A band 3 rehabilitation assistant, participates as a member of the Specialist Stroke Rehabilitation Unit team to provide effective rehabilitation programmes to the service users, either managing a caseload of patients with the support and supervision of the therapists, or working together with the therapists.


The team will provide a personal care and rehabilitation programme to people with the aim of enabling them to return home, encouraging and promoting rehabilitation and independence.
