Job Overview:


As a shift Leader you would be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations during specific shifts at the supported living facility.

This role ensures the smooth running of services, compliance with safety protocols, and direct supervision of the care provided during the shift.

The Shift Leader acts as the primary point of contact for all operational issues in the absence of senior management.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Shift Supervision: Oversee the operations of the facility during the shift, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Safety and Compliance: Monitor the environment and the care provided to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and internal policies.
  • Incident Handling: Respond to any incidents or emergencies, ensuring appropriate measures are taken and incidents are reported according to protocol.
  • Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for all staff during the shift, facilitating communication between team members and with management.
  • Client Support: Ensure that all clients are receiving proper care and support as per their individual care plans.
  • Documentation: Accurately record activities and any significant observations or incidents during the shift. Ensure that all documentation complies with company and regulatory standards.
  • Resource Management: Manage the use and availability of resources during the shift, including equipment and supplies.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Education: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a caregiving role within a healthcare or supported living setting. Previous supervisory experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Skills:
  • Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and stressful situations.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and care standards.
  • Personal Attributes: Empathetic, patient, and resilient. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a team.

Additional Requirements:


  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the facility's schedule.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including assisting with patient mobility and responding quickly to emergencies.

Pay:
£19,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
