Description

A regional civil engineering contractor are recruiting a General Foreman for their Hampshire based office working on projects along the M27/M3 corridor.

The business is a principal contractor who work with local authorities and private sector clients onprojects typically between £4m - £10 million.

The diversity of projects includes road widening, bridge construction, public realm, flood alleviation schemes, sea defences and water treatment upgrades.

Ideally you will have experience of self-delivering projects especially in a civil engineering environment with a good understanding of highways, groundworks and concrete.

The General Foreman will be able to lead a direct workforce, advise on buildabilityand make decisions.

The business offers a variety of projects in Hampshire, security and package that reflects your contribution to the company.

General Foreman duties include:

Ordering plant, labour and materials
Leading toolbox talks, daily briefings and site inductions
Working with the Site Agent and commercial team to raise early warning notices
Promote the highest levels of health and safety on site
Liaise with stakeholders on public facing projects
Ensure your work force is working safely, effectively and efficiently
Reading drawings with the site engineer to coordinate gangs and overcome design difficulties
Ensure risk assessments and method statements and being adhered to
