Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Team Leader - New Make Spirit, to join the dayshift team at The Macallan Estate.

You will ensure that The Macallan Business Unit and wider business needs are fulfilled by delivering the New Make Spirit Filling plan and work closely with the wider Warehousing Team to ensure all day to day operations run smoothly and business strategy is delivered.

This includes The Macallan NMS fillings, third party NMS fillings and managing empty cask deliveries and requirements.
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Warehouse Manager, key tasks and responsibilities of these roles include:

  • Collaborate with The Macallan Distillery Production Team, Cooperages and Liquid supply team to deliver excellent quality and service to plan.
  • You will manage the new make spirit warehouse operations at Macallan
  • Macallan NMS fillings, third party NMS fillings, empty cask deliveries and requirements.
  • Ensure all daily, weekly monthly checks are completed in relation to the FSDU and cask shed.
  • Work with warehouse planning controller to ensure cask delivery schedules are suitable and adhered to.
  • Work with cooperages and cask supply team to ensure casks are at the required standard and fit to fill.
  • Support Senior Warehouse Operations Manager and Warehouse Planning Controller to manage warehouse vacuity achieving most effective maturation whilst minimising losses and insurance risks.
  • Manage and lead the development of a team of senior operators and operators.
  • Responsibility for compliance with HMRC, HSE and environmental legislation.
  • Ensure site security controls are adhered to.
  • Play an integral role in the Transform Operations programme and for the North warehousing function including collaboration with other Edrington sites.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across warehouse operations.
  • Support the management of the overall The Macallan Warehouse Team budget.
  • Manage effectively warehouse labour requirements and equipment utilisation in collaboration with other warehouse operations team leaders.
  • Management of external contractors as required within plant area.
  • Provide a 24hr on call service on a rotational basis.
