There has never been a better time to join the Emergency Care Division at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Flow Coordinator to join our team. This role will work closely with ward areas from AMU to the medical wards.

You will join a team of flow coordinators who manage the patient flow across the hospital.

You will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, communicating across all levels to ensure timely flow of patients.

What you'll do


You will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the use of beds within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and Medical Wards.

You will be able to manage your own workload to achieve efficient flow from the emergency department (ED), working to help drive the national performance targets for emergency care and simultaneously keeping flow from the GP admitting area to the acute medical unit.


You will also be responsible for ensuring that patients move from AMU across the hospital to the speciality area that they require within the medicine wards.

Effective communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with multiple members of the multi-disciplinary teams.
