Our client is a global leader in the speciality materials sector who operates within the aerospace defence and automotive industries.
They are looking to strengthen their operations team with a Process Safety Engineer the core duties include:Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice initiatives
Identifying, evaluating, and supporting the management of major injuries, exposures, and process risks from current operations to achieve zero incidents.
To be considered you should hold a degree in chemical or mechanical engineering and ideally hold a certification in process safety training: IChemE, ImechE, CCPS, NEBOSH, Dekra.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Continually improving the effectiveness and efficiency of process safety management systems and performance.
- Lead and support Process Safety Management systems and performance.
- Support the development, implementation and tracking of process safety policies, standards, procedures, goals and leading and lagging metrics (i.e., process safety incidents, near misses, preventive maintenance, PHA corrective action closeout, etc.)
- Provide direction on process safety technology and risk minimisation.
- Participate in global process safety activities through a "centre of excellence" team.
Skills & Requirements:
- Must have a relevant technical degree, preferably in chemical, industrial or mechanical engineering.
- Professional certification or designation preferred (i.e., P.E., P. Eng., or equivalent)
- Ideally hold a Process Safety training certificate from a recognised industry body i.e., IchemE, ImechE, CCPS, Dekra, and NEBOSH.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing plant operations, process safety design and engineering requirements, and mitigation techniques and technologies
- Ability to help create a vision, strategy, and plan, as well as support plan execution.
