The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) is an independent social change organisation, fueled by a vision of a more equitable and just future.

We tirelessly work to accelerate this transition, striving for a world free from poverty where people and planet can thrive.

We are seeking two exceptional individuals to join our Investment Committee and one to join our Social Investment Committee. These are unique opportunities to join a diverse and dedicated team actively shaping a more equitable and just future.

The Investment Committee is a sub-committee of JRF and consists of JRF Trustees and independent committee members (ICM).

There are currently two vacancies for independent members, and we are looking for individuals with expertise in charity sector investments, mission aligned investing, and ESG/responsible investing expertise.


The Social Investment Committee is also a sub-committee of JRF which overseas JRF's portfolio of social investments, by which we mean investments with the dual purpose of directly furthering our charitable mission as well as achieving a financial return.

We are especially keen to attract members with experience of investment structuring and financial risk management, whether as investor or in a senior or executive role in charitable, community or social benefit organisations, particularly those serving disadvantaged groups.

The appointments are for an initial three-year term which may be extended for a further three years. Both Committees meet at least four times a year, with a mix of in-person meetings and virtual meetings.
