Automation Engineer - £60,000 - £80,000 DOE - Remote, UK

This role is for an experienced automation aficionado to help us lead the way as our Automation Engineer. We'relooking for a DevOps/Automation Engineer to join the Technology team to help us redefine the future of healthcare.

Supporting the engineering organisation, you'll be automating infrastructure deployments, building platforms to automate and remediate tasksfor our internal teams, and building a culture of observability.

As we're at the early stages of formation you'll have an excellent opportunity to lead in key technology decisions as we move forward.


Essential Functions:


  • Help to secure and monitor our AWS and SaaS environments
  • Manage an estate of AWS accounts and provision access to developers using native tools
  • Defining infrastructure as code
  • Creating pipelines to deploy resources into AWS using TypeScript, CDK and CodePipeline
  • Deploy common components into AWS that development teams can utilize
  • Working with development teams to improve their experience using the AWS platform
  • Ensure our staff have access to the best SaaS tools available when working at home or in the office
  • Build internal platforms, device management and capabilities using infrastructure as code
  • Developing serverless tools and guardrails delivering a frictionless developer experience
  • Implementing best in breed build, test, deployment and monitoring processes
  • Continually identifying areas of improvement through automation, documentation, process or working methods
  • Pushing the boundaries, questioning the status quo, ensuring what we are doing and what we are building is the very best it can be

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK and Terraform
  • Experience working with multiple AWS accounts, especially tools such as Organisations, IAM, Route53, Config, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Passionate about DevOps tools and the value they can add to traditional IT
  • Have a good understanding of automation techniques and best practices
  • Experience with any of the following a bonus:
  • Software engineering using TypeScript
  • An AWS certification
  • Working in a range of IT roles such as networking, firewall configuration or directory management
  • Building collaboration and end user computing solutions using SaaS products
  • Understand the importance of driving quality into code through test automation
