Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational activities and lesson plans
- Support students with special needs, including those with autism or other learning disabilities
- Provide individualized attention and support to students who require additional assistance
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean classroom space
- Collaborate with the lead teacher and other teaching staff to ensure effective communication and coordination
We are looking for an experienced, strong TA for a KS2 class of children with ASD, SLD, and sensory needs who show challenging behaviors.
They need to be proactive and able to get to know the children so they can see them as children first and foremost and best meet their needs, encouraging them to be as independent as possible in all their learning.
They need to be willing to do personal care and support the children positively in all situations. The class where they are based will have children who show challenging behaviour and have sensory needs. They need to be able to work well in a team and communicate well with adults and children. Our hours are with a 15 minute morning break and 30 minute lunch break for support staff.Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Knowledge or experience in special education or working with children with autism is a plus
- Ability to provide care for toddlers and meet their specific needs
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
