Description

As the Buyer, you will be supporting the Commercial team in sourcing materials, BOP's and sub-contract works, rationalizing the existing supply base to reduce overall spend and implementing supplier contracts / review standard terms and conditions.


The Key Responsibilities, but not limited to are:

  • To liaise with Sales personnel with regards to sourcing requirements.
  • To negotiate prices with material suppliers for customer directed commodities.
  • To tender (with multiple suppliers) for the supply of standard BOP items.
  • To source / negotiate price for the supply of unique BOP items.
  • To proactively identify cost saving opportunities for existing BOPs.
  • To tender (with multiple subcontractors) for the supply of moulded products.
  • Assist with cost estimations for customer RFQ.
  • Assist with the raising of New Product Introduction Sheets and system admin.
  • To negotiate LTA with all relevant suppliers for BOPs and mouldings.
  • Ensure that Customer LTAs are reflected in price agreements with suppliers.
  • Resolve any supply conflicts / delivery issues.
  • To be aware of company's level of risk with any supplier in terms of operational performance and financial standing.
  • To limit exposure from poor / unstable suppliers.

Qualifications & Experience ideally required:


  • Should ideally have a relevant Degree in a Business related discipline or similar and/or be CIPS qualified, but plenty of equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • You will need to be an experienced Buyer with a strong Automotive manufacturing background.
  • Any previous experience in procuring Plastics / Mouldings components would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • You will have Direct Automotive Commodity Spend experience.
  • Understanding of the strategic role of the Procurement function and ability to work at this level.
  • Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You should be a confident and forthcoming character.
