Access to Health Records Clerk QEH


Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust are looking for two enthusiastic and self-motivated staff members to join our Medical Records Team working at QEH.

The positions are for two Band 3 Access to Health Records Clerks.


The Medical Records Department is seeking to appoint to the post of Subject Access Clerk, to work as part of our team which is responsible for providing high quality service to our stakeholders.


The role involves processing SARs from a wide variety of other health care providers (including hospital staff and community teams), solicitors, police, courts as well as patients, their families and their carers.

A good knowledge and understanding Data Protection and patient confidentiality is essential for this role.

The position is available as full time [Monday to Friday] hours per week, working 9-5.


The post holder will provide an efficient, effective and highly confidential administration service for solicitors, third party and patient requests for patient medical records, which must be supplied in accordance with the Data Protection Act.


The post holder will be responsible for the day to day provision of SARs, and will be expected to work with other members of the SARS team, ensuring that all duties are carried out in accordance with the department's procedures.
