Field Service Engineer

Covering Swansea/ Newport

Permanent, Full-time

Salary:
£34, £37,294.40 dependent on experience & Company Benefits


Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm
We are delighted to be working with Marubeni Komatsu as they look to grow their field service tea.

The role of the field service engineer will be to maintain, service and repair Komatsu Plant machinery whilst always maintaining safe working practices.

Ensuring that you provide the customers the best levels of service, by regular communication with both the customer and service office to update on progress throughout the set activity.


  • Attending customers sites to diagnose the reported faults to:
  • Diagnosing the root cause of the reported fault
  • Identifying any parts required to carry out the repair so a return visit can be rescheduled.
  • Completing accurate and timely repair
  • Completing the specified documentation (RAMS, Job sheets etc)
  • Carry out a post repair test / inspection on the unit to ensure the unit is operating to expected performance levels
  • Keep the customer and your supervisor up to date on your estimated time of arrival following the receipt of the job instructions
  • Ensuring you register your arrival on site and undertake any site inductions as per the customer's specific site requirements.
  • Complete a dynamic sitespecific risk assessment and method statement prior to commencing any work in line with company and site procedures.
  • Complete all works to plan as agreed with the customer and service office.
  • Complete all job specific documentation relating to standard service and warranty repairs to allow for swift internal processing.
  • Ensure you label and return all unused parts, standard service and warranty used parts for processing.

Qualifications/ Skills & Experience:


  • Experience of working with Heavy plant and machinery.
  • Experience of working on customers sites
  • NVQ level 3 in plant maintenance or equivalent
  • H&S training carried out in PPE awareness, hand tools
  • Experience of delivering excellent customer service
  • Full driving licence

Desirable:


  • Use of fieldbased diagnosis tools and equipment.
  • Worked in similar environment
  • Technical knowledge of Komatsu products
  • SPA or CSCS training
