Procurement Assistant


Position Overview:


My client are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to join their Electrical Contracting company's administration and support team.

As a Procurement Assistant, you will be responsible for efficiently handling the ordering and procurement of materials and plant required for our construction projects.

This is a full-time office-based position, and you will play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth operations of their projects by ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project engineers to understand their material and plant requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of procurement needs.
  • Source, research, and evaluate potential suppliers/vendors to obtain competitive pricing and quality materials/plant.
  • Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate procurement records.
  • Handle any procurementrelated issues, including order discrepancies, shipping delays, and product quality concerns.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers to maximize cost savings while maintaining highquality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and take proactive measures to avoid stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Maintain strong communication with the administration and support team to ensure smooth coordination of procurement activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in procurement procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a procurement role, preferably within the construction industry or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to manage complex procurement processes effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with project engineers and suppliers.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure the best deals and build positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and plant equipment is a plus.

Salary:
£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
