Practice Manager Responsible for: Manage and develop all IM&T within practice Job Summary To delegate where appropriate in order to achieve there are adequate policies procedures and systems in place to maintain an efficient and effective fully functional IM &T practice KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Practice Manager Reception Team Multidisciplinary Team Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities 1.

Manage change and develop IM&T efficiently.

The Systems Administrator must demonstrate an alert and innovative mind in this role, being alive and responsive to enhanced change in both hardware and software which may be required by the practice.

Developing systems and recognize the need for training where appropriate.


  • All equipment meets required standard to ensure users are able to perform their duties liaising with Emis and PCT as appropriate. Ensure adequate systems are in place to ensure all faults are logged and dealt with effectively and in a timely manner as appropriate to ensure clinicians and staff have equipment in sound working order to perform their duties. 3.


Ensure that all IM &T equipment have the same functionality keeping up to date with developments and ensure that all users are aware of changes/developments.

The System Administrator is responsible to ensure that there is an up-to-date security policy, understands and ensures security and precautionary measures are constantly maintained.

To preserve information, confidentiality, and the retention of patient medical data records as per the data protection act.


  • Analyse and Manage disease registers for QOF on Emis 6. Claims for practice-based activities. 7.


Responsible for targets for immunisation, cytology flu, Minor Surgery and QOF This job description is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities but more an outline framework against which the post holder will be given flexibility to define the detail.

The post may be liable to changes and/or variation dependant on the service needs, but this will be undertaken in consultation with the post holder and will be appropriate to the grade.

Competence The post holder is responsible for limiting his/her actions to those he/she feels competent to undertake.

If the post holder has any doubts as to his/her competence during the course of his/her duties the he/she should Immediately speak to his/her line manager.
