Secondary Market Sourcing Associate
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Secondary Market Sourcing Associate to join Launchbay team.
As a Secondary Market Sourcing Associate, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities in the secondary market for private equity and venture capital investments.
Your primary goal will be to help maximize returns and minimize risk for our firm and its investors. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the secondary market ecosystem.Responsibilities:

Evaluate Opportunities:
Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential secondary market investment opportunities.
- Market Analysis: Stay uptodate with market trends, key players, and transaction activity in the secondary market. Monitor industry developments and assess their potential impact on investment decisions.
- Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on target investments, including analyzing financial statements, reviewing legal documentation, and assessing the performance and prospects of underlying companies.
- Valuation and Pricing: Evaluate the fair value and pricing of secondary market investments based on financial models, market comparables, and relevant benchmarks.
- Investment Recommendations: Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment team, providing insights, recommendations, and risks associated with potential investments.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with brokers, intermediaries, and other market participants to enhance deal flow and access to highquality investment opportunities.
- Portfolio Management Support: Collaborate with portfolio managers to provide ongoing analysis and monitoring of existing secondary market investments, including tracking performance, analyzing exit options, and optimizing portfolio returns.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports and updates on the secondary market investment activities, portfolio performance, and market trends for internal stakeholders and investors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Proven experience (at least 23 years) in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or a related field with a focus on secondary market investments.
- Deep knowledge of the secondary market ecosystem, including key players, transaction types, regulatory considerations, and current trends.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, with a solid understanding of valuation techniques and investment performance metrics.
- Familiarity with legal and contractual aspects of secondary market transactions, including purchase agreements, transfer restrictions, and shareholder rights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, external stakeholders, and investors.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
