Permanent contract

Full time; 40 hours per week with some flexibility for evening/weekend work

Based on site at ROH Covent Garden

The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming and social media to worldwide cinema screenings.

The work of our Audiences and Media Department focuses on growing the love, advocacy and demand for the art presented by the Royal Opera House, so that we can share our work with millions across the world and grow our audience-generated revenues.

We are looking for a Learning Communications Officer to join the Communications team and focus on delivering effective campaigns that highlight the range of work we deliver as an organisation not just on site at Covent Garden but across the UK.

This will tie in closely with our advocacy strategy and mission to bring the art forms of Opera and Ballet to as many people as possible.

Examples of this work are the programmes delivered by our Learning and Participation team, as well as career pathways such as apprenticeships, sector wide initiatives, our Cinema programme and other brand events.

  • Experience of working within a busy communications team, ideally within the education/learning space, with media and social channels and partners.
  • A track record of identifying, developing, and securing high profile media opportunities which meet strategic objectives and cultivating new media contacts
  • Experience of developing and implementing multichannel, integrated communications plans with measurable KPIs
  • Strong communication skills and high standard of written/verbal English including good proofreading skills
  • Experience with developing engaging, creative content for owned digital channels
  • The ability to build rapport and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Though it is not a prerequisite an interest and/or experience working in the charity or public sector will be highly regarded, as will the motivation to learn more about our arts forms and engaging new audiences._

Please note - first stage interviews will be held online on Friday 28th July and 2nd stage in person interviews will be on site at ROH Covent Garden on 1st August.
Applicants must have work authorisation for the UK. No agencies please
