Context of the Role
You will work as part of a team in a busy environment, under the guidance and supervision of a Stores Manager or Supervisor.
Duties include receiving, moving, checking and storing incoming goods plus assisting in the provision of goods receipting and delivery services across the campus.
Main Responsibilities Operational
- Welcome and greet customers and delivery staff in a respectable manner
- Provide a counter service to staff and students, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Handle and operate necessary tools and accessories in maintaining and managing a store, including a hand held scanner device
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks
- Handle shipping, loading and unloading of products
- Stack and organise large bulk items
- Drive vans and trucks in handling warehouse materials as required
- Handle delicate and sensitive products with utmost care
- Scan delivered items and ensure quality
- Unpack shipments in the store room, categorise and prioritise them appropriately
- Pack, sort, organise and store inventory in proper location
- Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors
- Accurately process inventory paperwork, efficiently and promptly
- Package items and label correctly prior to delivery across campus
- Prepare and distribute specialordered merchandise
- General housekeeping and maintenance of stores keep neat and clean stores to provide a safe working environment for colleagues and staff alike
- Attend training courses as required during the course of employment.
- Assist in other Stores areas, as required
