Context of the Role


You will work as part of a team in a busy environment, under the guidance and supervision of a Stores Manager or Supervisor.

Involved in moving stock manually around the stores and delivering packages across campus.


Duties include receiving, moving, checking and storing incoming goods plus assisting in the provision of goods receipting and delivery services across the campus.


Main Responsibilities Operational

  • Welcome and greet customers and delivery staff in a respectable manner
  • Provide a counter service to staff and students, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Handle and operate necessary tools and accessories in maintaining and managing a store, including a hand held scanner device
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Handle shipping, loading and unloading of products
  • Stack and organise large bulk items
  • Drive vans and trucks in handling warehouse materials as required
  • Handle delicate and sensitive products with utmost care
  • Scan delivered items and ensure quality
  • Unpack shipments in the store room, categorise and prioritise them appropriately
  • Pack, sort, organise and store inventory in proper location
  • Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors
  • Accurately process inventory paperwork, efficiently and promptly
  • Package items and label correctly prior to delivery across campus
  • Prepare and distribute specialordered merchandise
  • General housekeeping and maintenance of stores keep neat and clean stores to provide a safe working environment for colleagues and staff alike
  • Attend training courses as required during the course of employment.
  • Assist in other Stores areas, as required
