We have an exciting opportunity to join the Estate Services Department as a Head of Graduate Accommodation and Residential Letting working in a hybrid office.


Estates Services is responsible for the management of Oxford's 450 buildings, University Parks and Gardens, Wytham Woods and commercial, agriculture and residential land.

About the Role


Reporting the Director of Asset and Space Management, The Head of Graduate Accommodation and Residential Lettings is responsible for the Graduate Accommodation portfolio (933 units and an annual income of £7 million) and the Residential Lettings portfolio (150 units and an annual income of £2 million).

The main responsibilities of the post involve the management and development of University-owned graduate and residential accommodation.


You will also be responsible for the management, leadership and development of a growing team of 19 staff, based in the office but with staff also moving towards a hybrid working model, across all the graduate accommodation sites and throughout the City.

You will make visits to sites on a regular basis.

You will also contribute to the budget setting processes, regularly review strategic opportunities for land and property acquisition, disposal and redevelopment, regularly review the standards and availability of service in all areas of responsibility, recommend, introduce, create and oversee schemes and plans to develop and refurbish Graduate Accommodation and Residential Lettings properties, act as Section Safety Officer ensuring all health and safety and compliance aspects are adhered to.


About You


To be successful in this varied and interesting role you must be able to demonstrate a strong track record in the residential and institutional property sector at a senior level, with experience of accounts and budgeting.


You must have exceptional leadership and communication skills and should be a strategic thinker able to operate independently within pre-agreed responsibility guidelines.

You will be articulate and able to write clear well-structured reports.

Demonstrable customer service experience, understanding and commitment is important, as is experience of working with student or similar accommodation types.
