Hours:
Full Time, 38.5 hours per week


Salary:
PS PS23.00 (Depending on Qualifications and Experience)


Locations:
Our Nursing Homes across Bristol and Bath.


Job Role:


Supports the care team and senior management in a way that promotes the Cedar Care Vision to create a strong and nurturing family, where care is based on building of respectful relationships amongst residents and the staff that assist them, resulting in a feeling of security, contentment and a sense of belonging.

In doing so the Senior nurse assists in implementing and monitoring systems and ensures compliance to maintain:

  • Deliver clinical Nursing Care through assessing and monitoring residents needs and undertaking clinical procedures and administering medication.
  • Be a role model and advocate a holistic approach to care working with the wider nursing home team (Named Carers, Care Assistants, Wellbeing Team and ancillary teams)
  • Lead on Admissions, complex Clinical care needs, medical emergencies and end of life care.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with external bodies such as GPs and Pharmacists.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Residents, their family and friends.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to clinical care, e.g. care plans, audits, incidents, changes to health and wellbeing, health and safety and manual handling.

Required Skills, Abilities and Experience:


Essential

  • Qualified and NMC Registered Nurse (adult level 1), RN1/RN
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the CQC Regulations and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety, Infection Control, Medication, GDPR, NMCs standards and guidance and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Experience of working with older people, those with a disability, and/or dementia
  • Experience of working in a nursing homes.
  • Experience of conducting clinical audits and risk assessments
  • Experience of writing and reviewing care plans
  • Knowledge of good practice in relation to health and safety, first aid, moving and handling and infection control
  • Experience of keeping accurate records
  • In depth understanding of the ageing process

Desirable

  • Working (or willing to work) towards further professional qualifications
  • People management skills
  • Experience of quality assurance systems
  • Experience of reviewing and developing internal practices and policies
