Are you an aspiring HCA or current HCA? If so come and join our amazing Digestive Diseases Team on the new elective Colorectal/ HPB surgical unit based at City campus.


You will be based in the Surgical Division - within which you will be given the opportunity and responsibility to promote clinical excellence.

In line with Tomorrow's NUH this build will enable us to think differently about how we deliver care.

The new unit is due to open in early autumn and will comprise of two x 10 bedded areas across 2 floors, including 4 level one beds on each floor alongside the new ward Staff wellbeing spaces and training suite are being renovated alongside the new buildings as we value our teams and have a keen interest in developing staff.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, forward thinking, caring individuals who are committed to providing a high standard of safe quality patient care.


As you will be delivering hands on patient care within our adult in-patient clinical areas, we are looking for excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with members of the public and the hospital multidisciplinary team.


No prior experience is care is necessary as we support you through a healthcare assistant induction and support you to complete the national Care Certificate.

You will be supported to undertake your role, by clinical support trainer on the ward.


You will need to:


  • Hold the right to work in the UK (certificate of sponsorship is not available for this role)
  • Be prepared to undertake preemployment checks, which can last a number of weeks and includes a medical and criminal record checkPlease note that shift patterns are shift patterns are 07:0019:30, 19:0007:00.
