We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Assistant Supervisor within our Operations Team.


In a nutshell, you will be responsible for:
Day to day leadership of the Casting/finishing Department, ASH cover for the Production supervisor.


What you are already great at:

  • All departmental tasks are completed in accordance with the SOP's
  • Departmental quality standards are maintained at ALL times
  • Resources are allocated in the most efficient manner to maintain quality standards and hit throughput expectations
  • When making decisions quality considerations are given the highest priority
  • Daily Tool Box talks, setting expectations for the day and issues from the previous day
  • Discipline of operatives where necessary, conduct quality return to work sessions and monitor absence trends.
  • Working with other Team Leaders to ensure resources are balanced during periods of particularly high ASH, management of working hours, overtime.
  • Participate in daily / weekly / monthly production meetings
  • Leading the department in environmental, health & safety matters, ensuing that safety considerations are paramount
  • Representing the department in the Company EHS committee, providing a conduit between the management and shopfloor
  • Supporting the EHS team in completing departmental risk assessments, accident investigations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Training and development of ALL operatives, working towards a fully multiskilled team
  • Support and where appropriate lead, CI activities to drive efficiency, waste reduction or yield improvement
  • Communicate with the Technical department to ensure full control of materials
  • Cover for the supervisor when required
  • Attend training course as and when required.

For this role we would need you to demonstrate:

  • Understands the product range well
  • Understands the process they are responsible for and the impact of its failures
  • Has basic departmental equipment knowledge
  • Has good communication skills
  • Displays a positive attitude and uses initiative in day to day role.
  • Is willing to undertake training to develop in role and improve department performance
  • Actively supports the continuous improvement process
