The Department of Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) seeks to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Information Behaviour. This post will be part of the SISRG (Strathclyde iSchool Research Group) research group. SISRG is an interdisciplinary information science research group, investigating human information behaviour, cultural heritage, and interactive information retrieval (IR). SISRG members publish at leading international venues e.g. SIGIR, ASIS&T, ISIC, CHIIR and have a track record of attracting funding from a variety of sources e.g. UKRI, EU, industry etc.
Much of our work is societal in nature, investigating human information need and use, and informing the design and delivery of public information systems and services.
Research Starter Grant
The Faculty of Science offers a Research Starter Grant to all new full-time, non-professorial, academic staff within the Faculty.
The Grant may be used for any purpose that assists staff to establish their Strathclyde research career and to assist in attracting additional funding for research from external sources.
Any grant awarded will be to a maximum of £10,000, and the planned expenditure of the award is normally for a period of 18 months.
Departments may, however, add to the value of this award.Formal interviews for this post will be held late April / early May 2023
