We have two Assistant Youth work assistant posts available 1 x Melton Mowbray - Venture House 1 x Loughborough - Mountfields, both posts are 5 hours per week over two evenings.

Working alongside the Youth Workers & supporting Group work delivery

JOB PURPOSE

To assist in the delivery of group work provisions within Localities and engage with Children & Young People 11 plus to develop their resilience and independence whilst managing any safeguarding and vulnerabilities.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrable experience identified within the section's below
Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable or from a hard to reach group
Awareness of issues affecting young people
Awareness and commitment to implement child protection and safeguarding procedures
Knowledge of ways of engaging and to maintain the attention of young people in a group work setting
The ability to support colleagues in delivering group work
Ability to identify and liaise with other relevant agencies
Ability to use own initiative
A flexible approach to working, including outofhours, and an ability and willingness to travel to various locations in a costefficient way
Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
The post holder must be willing to undertake further training within the Youth Justice professional development framework
