We have two Assistant Youth work assistant posts available 1 x Melton Mowbray - Venture House 1 x Loughborough - Mountfields, both posts are 5 hours per week over two evenings.

Working alongside the Youth Workers & supporting Group work delivery


JOB PURPOSE

To assist in the delivery of group work provisions within Localities and engage with Children & Young People 11 plus to develop their resilience and independence whilst managing any safeguarding and vulnerabilities.


ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrable experience identified within the section's below
  • Experience of working with young people who are vulnerable or from a hard to reach group
  • Awareness of issues affecting young people
  • Awareness and commitment to implement child protection and safeguarding procedures
  • Knowledge of ways of engaging and to maintain the attention of young people in a group work setting
  • The ability to support colleagues in delivering group work
  • Ability to identify and liaise with other relevant agencies
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • A flexible approach to working, including outofhours, and an ability and willingness to travel to various locations in a costefficient way
  • Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
  • The post holder must be willing to undertake further training within the Youth Justice professional development framework

You are invited to a drop in session for the Melton post on Wednesday 29th March between 5:30 - 6:30pm at Venture House Asfordby Road Melton Mowbray LE13 0HN And/or Thursday 23rd March 5:30 - 6:30pm at Mountfields Centre Squirel way, off Epinal Way Loughborough LE11 3GE,
