We offer exciting and challenging BPS accredited routes of undergraduate and postgraduate study in addition to hosting an established and growing postgraduate research community of postgraduate research students.


As part of plans to expand the successful Psychology research and teaching portfolio, we are looking for inspiring, enthusiastic graduates who are committed to: providing a high quality student experience in their teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes; and, engaging in a PhD, 4-year programme of study in one of the advertised proposed PhD projects available in Graduate Teaching Assistance Programme (GTAP) in Psychology.


The GTAP provides a career development pathway in teaching and research for new graduates, The programme is available to those who do not currently hold, or are currently studying for, a PhD qualification.

The available PhD projects reflect current research programmes across Health, Social & Cognitive Psychology.

Up to four A4 pages using Arial 12 point (with references as an addition to the proposal).


The research proposal should (a) expand on the project description to provide a focused literature review, the research aims, and a detailed description of the field work, including (where applicable) participants, methods, analysis, and timeline; and (b) indicate where you already have experience and skills relevant to the eligibility criteria and research proposal.
