The role


The Open University is recruiting an Impact Coordinator to support strategic and operational activity that will set up the Faculty for success in the REF2028 assessment.

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is an important event for the University and influences future research funding we receive.


The postholder will work with the Senior Manager (Impact) to maximise the societal impact through our research and knowledge exchange.

This will include supporting the implementation of key strategic plans to grow impact literacy and capability across the Faculty.


Skills and experience

  • Indepth comprehension of research impact, assessment methodologies, strategies, and the broader impact agenda
  • A good track record of working with a range of stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner, and responding to diverse queries.
  • Good planning and organisation skills, including coordinating the work of other members in the team or Faculty.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team.
