Western Counties Roofing Ltd are a leading roofing company specialising in providing high-quality roofing solutions. We are currently seeking a Yard Person to join our team at our Bodmin depot. As a Yard Person, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of our depot and ensuring the efficient handling of materials and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the daytoday operations of the yard, maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Receive incoming deliveries of materials, inspect them for accuracy and quality, and ensure proper storage and organisation.
Prepare outgoing deliveries and loading of materials onto vehicles, ensuring accurate and secure packaging.
Operate forklifts and other equipment to move and handle materials safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to fulfil material requests and provide support as needed.
Assist in conducting regular stock checks and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate material movements and prioritise tasks.
Assisting and restocking of material from site collections.
Ensuring the storage yard is tidy, organised, and safe at all times.
Opening and closing the depot each day.
Excellent stock knowledge and attention to detail is vital.

Requirements:

Full UK Driving Licence
Previous experience in a similar yard or warehouse role is preferred but not essential.
Forklift certification is desirable. Training can be given.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as work in outdoor conditions.
Basic computer skills for inventory management and recordkeeping purposes.
Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment.
Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following health and safety protocols.
