About the role
By joining our
Power Transmission and Distribution team as a
Sustainability Advisor within our Environmental Sustainability team you will be supporting the government's ambitions to deliver low-carbon energy across the UK and beyond, and working on an essential
Over Head Line and cabling project
in the beautiful location of the Isle of Skye


The Environmental Sustainability Team in Scotland has a wide background of team players who support each other, and their site teams, on environment and sustainability matters to aid project delivery inline with Sustainable Development Goals.


Using a hands-on approach, you will be advising operational teams, project engineers and managers on aspects of environmental sustainability, sustainability management and best-practice, developing sustainability documentation, meeting legal and company standards.

You will work with the Environmental Sustainability Team to help ensure the environmental requirements of Clients and Regulators are complied with, provide support on site mitigation, and engage with local stakeholders and members of the public.

What you'll be doing

  • Help deliver a culture of continual improvement by advising our operational teams on sustainability delivery, as a key member of a wider network of Environmental Sustainability and Social Sustainability Team colleagues.
  • Help develop and maintain project sustainability management documentation, including carbon tracking and PAS2080 alignment
  • Record Case Studies describing good practices and innovations, assess data to identify gaps in performance, and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure the Project Sustainability Plan is maintained in line with company strategy, standards, legislation, and Client requirements.
  • Ensure site compliance with the latest Net Zero legislation and guidance, and support operational teams, project engineers and managers to champion bestpractice
  • Support Stakeholder engagement activites and maintain strong relationships with regulators, clients and subcontractors.

Who we're looking for

  • Strong knowledge of environmental management and sustainability issues including Circular Economy principles, UNSDGs, decarbonisation methodologies, Social Impact, and Nature Positive Places (NPF4)


  • Regulator consultation experience

  • Desirable
  • Understanding of the Construction operating environment
  • Desirable
  • Membership of Relevant Professional Body i.e. CIWM, IEMA Desirable
