A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A
HOTEL OPERATIONS INTERN AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY

What you'll be doing..._

The role is an exciting 12- or 18-month rotational internship development plan that was put together to build the successful hospitality professionals of tomorrow.

If you are looking to build the foundation for a strong career in the hospitality industry this role is for you because:

You will have the opportunity to learn and work under the supervision of experienced leaders in a variety of key operational departments like: Food Beverage, Kitchen, Front Office, Spa, Housekeeping.
You will be able to gain knowledge and skills in a newly opened 5* renowned Marriott branded hotel which will serve as a steppingstone for a wellbuilt hospitality career ahead.
You will learn how to provide exceptional high standard guest service.
You will have a dedicated experienced mentor that will help guide you find your career path and provide perspective, motivation, and emotional support along the way.
Along the applied learning you will be offered ongoing accredited learning or even an apprenticeship programme.
Throughout the programme, you will be able to also cross train in an elective nonoperational department like Sales Marketing, Finance or Revenue Reservations to strengthen your understanding of the business.
Following the completion of the programme, provided you have been successful throughout your tenure at the hotel, we will review options for a permanent role.

Have a positive attitude welcoming manner.
Oral written fluency in English. Additional language will be considered a plus.

The Westin London City Hotel Residences will be a key part of the redevelopment of the former Queensbridge House site, as well as an independently operated destination restaurant. The site stretches from Queenhithe Dock the oldest in London and runs north to south, bridging across Upper Thames Street and giving it a prominent position over one of the primary arterial routes through the City of London. Highly visible from the South Bank, the hotel will also benefit from panoramic views over the River Thames and will complete the northern riverbank walkway between the Tower of London and Millennium Bridge.
The hotel will be the first under Marriott's Westin brand in the UK. The hotel's 222 guest rooms, including 10 suites and Presidential Suite, are designed to offer guests a natureinspired respite in the centre of a bustling city, expertly balancing a calming palette of natural colours with contrasting tones, textures and materials. The development also includes a fitness and leisure suite, conference facilities, plus a restaurant and wine bar with spectacular views over the River Thames.
The hotel will feature an indoor swimming pool, idyllic 375m2 spa and WestinWORKOUT fitness studio with stateoftheart TRX exercise equipment. In addition, 830m2 of ultramodern meeting and event space will be available, including a Junior Ballroom and four meeting rooms, as well as a 24hour business centre.
