About Our Client:

A leading distributor of a vast range of products serving a nationwide client base. In the UK, they are the largest network wholesaler of their kind

  • Calculate and process manual payroll calculations for all aspects of pay such as SMP, SPP, SSP, Apprenticeship Levy and Company sick pay to aid in the delivery of a timely, efficient, and accurate payroll and proactively managing the outputs for RTI for all reconciliations.
  • Undertake the daytoday activities of the payrolls ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collate and perform endtoend processing of monthly payrolls which include payments such as overtime, allowances, leavers, starters, termination payments paid, and unpaid leave and salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Adherence to correct HMRC processes in the processing payments from income to net pay through payroll ensuring employee over payments and returned payments are recovered and paid in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for leading troubleshooting and investigating root cause analysis of process and transaction issues to provide evidence for complaint resolution and to identify process gaps.
  • Acting as the responsible person for escalating technical or operational issues to the Payroll Manager.
  • Provide support to ensure smooth delivery of service by monitoring work volumes and ensuring key payroll deadlines are met by deploying resources accordingly.

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of statutory payments to provide training and guidance to payroll team members and nonpayroll staff.
  • Monthly & ad hoc reporting.
  • Good understanding of PAYE, reconciliation, EPS, P11Ds.

The Successful Applicant:


  • Strong communicator and customer oriented
  • CIPP Qualified an advantage
  • Previous experience of iTrent payroll system
  • Advance Excel (vlook up, pivot etc)
  • Flexible team player
  • Significant experience working within a similar position
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload
  • Strong understanding of UK legislation and regulations in relation to payroll processing
  • Extensive payroll experience and indepth knowledge of processes, policies and regulations within the area of Payroll and Pension Administration
  • Gathering information and problem solving
  • Good knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulation
