Stores Assistant required for market leading, highly specialist manufacturer based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established, reputable business who have excellent facilities and can offer ongoing career support and development for the right person.

The Stores Assistant will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Receive goods into stores in a timely manner and accurately check and book in on the warehouse management IT system
  • Put goods away into the appropriate location such as job bins, consignment stocks, consumables etc.
  • Make daily collections of finished jobs from the inhouse workshop and book on to the warehouse management IT system
  • Process picking lists for workshop use as required
  • Ensure any finished goods received from the workshop are packaged as required and prepared for shipment to customers/subcontractors, arranging the necessary transport as required and ensuring customer delivery dates are met
  • Have main responsibility for any van driving requirements
  • Assist the Supply Chain Manager & Stores Supervisor to develop the overall Stores function including all mezzanine areas in readiness for the implementation of an ERP system
  • Perform general stores duties including forklift driving as required and to follow all relevant company procedures
  • Ensure that all stores areas are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Undertake any other adhoc duties as required

Skills & Experience required:

  • Proven Goods Inwards/Stores/Stock Control experience
  • IT skills (Excel & other Microsoft Office Packages)
  • A team player with good communications skills
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous
  • A forklift licence would be beneficial but is not essential to be considered for this role
