Description

Satellite Vu was founded in 2016 with the aim to fill the void in high resolution thermal data from space.

It has, since then, turned into a high-growth space tech company poised to help the globe address its sustainability challenges through high-resolution thermal imaging.

We are on a quest to ensure any structure on the planet is energy efficient and support the reduction of businesses' carbon footprint.

In near real-time, we will use infrared technology to monitor the Earth and will be able to assess and determine insights into economic activity.

This will allow businesses to make decisions to reduce their climate impact.

We are looking for an Operations Associate to join us as a foundational member of the Operations team, as we scale.

WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN
As an early stages business, you can expect your role to develop over time.

We'd expect you to dive into a range of tasks and high priority problems across the company, and proactively problem solve as issues arise.

We see this role as crucial to the successful scaling of Satellite Vu, enabling other departments to concentrate on their core activities.

It's a demanding role, but when done well it will be very rewarding as the impact of effective operations will be very clear - and well recognised - in the achievements of the company.

Here are some of the types of things you could be getting involved in:

  • Identify discrete projects that you can lead on (with support as you wish), and own implementation and delivery.
  • Be a vocal advocate for our company culture and values, listen to how the team are doing, and be proactive with initiatives to respond and improve.
  • Own the planning and delivery of company social activities to drive happiness, collaboration, and motivation.
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing operation of various People function frameworks, for example: learning and development, performance management, benefits, team wellbeing initiatives.
  • Become the owner of the company knowledge base / team wiki.
  • Support the creation and implementation of an amazing recruitment and onboarding experience. We expect to hire a talent acquisition manager postSeries B, and meanwhile for the Operations Associate to support the People Director with recruitment and onboarding.
  • Support the regular cadence and content of All Hands meetings and other internal communication channels.
  • Work with the management team on the implementation of OKRs.
  • Collating internal reports and KPIs.
  • Revenue ops ultimately, we will scale revenue ops with a team of specialists, but there is important early work to be done supporting the sales team with CRM (Salesforce) system development, reporting, onboarding, training and knowledge sharing.
This is the only Ops role we will be hiring for before Series B.

We expect that after 12 months there will be an opportunity to start to specialise, depending on interest and as the business grows (eg revenue ops, people ops).

WHAT YOU MIGHT BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Recent operations or people team experience in a high-growth tech environment.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders and at all levels
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience implementing new systems, processes and productivity tools.
  • Interest in climate tech, enthusiasm for building a bestinclass Operations function, and high motivation for your own professional development.

HOW WE WILL INTERVIEW YOU:

  • Call with our People Director to discuss the role in more detail as well as your own wants and needs. The call will last about 30 minutes
  • Meeting in person with our People Director and CFO
  • Informal chat with wider team members and Founders

Benefits

  • Salary: £3035k depending on experience
  • Share options
  • 25 days holiday
  • Hybrid office / remote (Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office in Central London)
  • Learning and development allowance
  • Perkbox
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Workplace Nursery Benefit scheme
