Desktop and Systems Support Engineer - 2nd / 3rd Line - Clacton-on-Sea
Career progression often happens when you're already in a role, especially within IT Support. You naturally progress through from 1st to 2nd Line but it is always tough to jump into third.

You might currently get a taste of project work but mostly that is leftto the 3rd line engineers and there's no more room in that team.

This is different. Very different a chance to step up, do more project work and progress.

You're currently a 2nd line Engineer ready to step up, craving more project work and a chance to work more on the servers.

You've been shouting about the virtues of Cloud based architecture for a while now but there's never quite the budget or time and it'salways "in the pipeline".

You know you're ready, they know you're ready but even with the best intentions you know you'll always be dragged back to the helpdesk as there are never enough staff.

You've been reading about Azure and know how you want to implement it, the AD also needs a full restructure, switches need upgrading and it really is time to replace the helpdesk system but there's never the time or budget.

You will work alongside the Senior Systems Administrator and support all project work across the sites.

There are 500 users here (250 at this site) and the two 1st Line Support Engineers are focussed on looking after them, only leaning on you when necessary.

There are currently thirteen people in IT so great support and well covered.
You will mentor and be mentored, there is always the opportunity for training, accreditations and more. You and your career will be very well looked after.

The role is onsite in Clacton but with a truly flexible approach, working from home from time-to-time and flexible start/finish times too.


Salary is around £38,000 - £40,000 plus benefits. We need you to have a strong career in
IT, supporting a Microsoft infrastructure including Windows 7 and above, Windows Server 2012 and above, O365, networks, switches and more.
