We are looking for a full-time Senior Accounts / Finance Assistant to join our European Accounting & Finance team based in our Loughborough office.

This role will report to the CFO - Europe and will support Finance and Admin duties to support the region, ensuring functional objectives are met and that the company is compliant with respective internal and external laws and regulations.


You will be responsible for:


  • Ensuring that all UK accounting and administration is completed accurately and efficiently,
  • Supporting the European Finance and Administration team and operate as an integrated team supporting and covering each other duties
  • Completing Month End close and Group reporting duties, including preparation of accruals and prepayments
  • Completing audit schedules and liaise with auditors as needed
  • Reconciling UK Bank accounts with SAP (including GBP, US$ & EUR currency accounts),
  • Managing Bank Accounts and ensure fund available for payments and instigate interaccount transfers
  • Preparing weekly cash report and detailed cash flow forecasts (of receipts and payments)
  • Ensuring accounts payable invoices are up to date on SAP, generate payments, and ensure purchasing and payments process is followed,
  • Managing administration of customer orders (sales) and respective SAP entries,
  • Ensuring all sales are invoiced, uploaded to customer portals, and posting cash receipts to ensure accounts receivables are up to date on SAP,
  • Credit control, VAT returns and reconcile to GL, HMRC related duties, Maintain Fixed Asset register
  • Managing, reviewing, and posting SAP entry of expenses and credit card statements ensuring company processes are followed and all VAT receipts are provided
  • Working with the Production team on shipments, purchase orders, stock deliveries process
  • Ensuring Import and Export compliance
  • Shipping raising shipping paperwork, managing couriers, HMRC documentation,
  • RMA (returns) administration
  • Other administrative duties to support the office, including organising company social events, offsite meetings, travel and hotels
  • Assisting with annual budgets and forecasts as needed,
  • General administration duties where necessary e.g. stationery purchasing, mobile phone contracts, office supplies, post, packaging, answering the phone,
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role, as may reasonably be requested by the line manager or CFO Europe.

Your background and experience:


  • 35 years of experience in a similar role
  • Formal accounts training (eg. AAT)
  • Month end close duties including preparation of accruals and prepayments
  • Accounts payable and receivable experience
  • Experience with customer orders and order processing
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One or similar system
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills, with good English and Math skills
  • The ability to selfmanage and drive outcomes, along with the ability to take responsibility for tasks
  • A willingness to undertake further relevant training
  • An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities.

Extra points if you have the following:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Diploma in Export Management or other form of Export Qualification
  • Previous experience working for a technology company, ideally in a startup environment
  • Other finance experience (eg. VAT Returns, costs)
  • Negotiation and diplomacy skills
  • The ability to undertake occasional travel
