Are you currently managing a high-performing software development team or IT department, looking for a step into a truly Global role? Do you live and breathe continuous improvement, enabling your teams to deliver high-quality software, month-in, month-out?If so, I have got an excellent opportunity for you. I am currently partnered with a global FinTech business, that is recruiting for their next Head of Engineering (Java).
In this role, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of high-quality technology solutions that are stable and resilient; conform to security and architectural standards; and are developed in line with software development methodology (OOP/TDD).
- Managing operational risks, audit findings, and penetration test findings ensuring all IT governance and business processes are adhered to.
- Working collaboratively with executive business partners and technology leaders to shape new services and products, aligned to global platform strategy.
- Leading innovation, quality, and productivity; ensure meaningful metrics are in place to track effective delivery of value, customer satisfaction and efficient performance.
- Embeds a culture of continuous improvement and collaborates with specialists, communities, and stakeholders to increase knowledge sharing and consistency.
- Ensures appropriate use of available resources, including staff/recruitment.
- Manages individual and team performance and progress to meet objectives through goal setting, regular feedback, coaching, reward and recognition.
- Experience in an Engineering or Development Senior Leadership role, working with teams across the full software development lifecycle.
- Excellent leadership skills sets direction and shares a vision and values. Motivates and empowers employees. Leads effectively through change and adversity.
- Excellent management skills organising work and resources, planning and setting priorities, delegating effectively, timely monitoring and performance management.
- Experience in technical mentoring of Development and Quality Engineers, with a track record of maximising the individual potential of team members.
- Experience in stakeholder management building confidence, setting expectations and meeting commitments to increase customer satisfaction.
- Experience influencing stakeholders at all levels, from delivery team to Senior, often nontechnical Management.
- Experience using and implementing agile methodologies.
