Position Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Global Travel Retail Team at Edrington to bring to life the ultimate Retail Experience in our exciting and ever evolving channel.

Reporting into the Global Travel Retail Marketing Director, you will drive a step change in our brands instore visibility, consumer engagement, staff education and luxury experience for The Macallan, to continue the fantastic journey of retail excellence we have embarked on.

Through your strategic, marketing and retail capabilities on top of strong commercial understanding, you will make a key contribution by delivering the full potential behind our brands, setting the organisation up for success in the years to come.

You will play a pivotal role in the GTR team working closely with the other functions, Global stakeholders, agencies, retailers and vendors for all the brands in our portfolio.

The role can be based at our global headquarters in Glasgow or Singapore or Dubai.
Job Description

The key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Global Retail team to develop and evolve the service standards of excellence within retail: retail operations, education, luxury selling, capability building. Some of the key projects include; Retail Gifting Experience guideline and toolkits, Planograms and Merchandising guidelines and toolkits, POS, clientele and data capture tools.
  • Lead the cascade of all retail formats (Permanent and temporary) into the GTR spaces to ensure consistent and cohesive visibility and activations.
  • Ensure delivery of high quality, cost effective retail execution and exploration into use of all sustainable retail materials, across the Edrington portfolio
  • Mystery shopper program, performance tracking and reporting for all GTR Retail spaces
  • Operations responsibilities include ; Daily Shopfloor and people Management: Staff Structure, Salary Structure, Recruitment Process, Agency Selection, Uniforms, Performance Monitoring, HR Issues, Incentives, Selling guidelines setting/implementation
  • Education responsibilities; Define the Education strategy and content/ training calendar in collaboration with Global Education team, Lead rollout of the training content, Focus on luxury retail excellence and brand story telling.
  • Lead the GTR Retail & Education team, developing a highperformance culture and delivering world class outputs
  • A&P responsible for Retail and Education design, implementation and maintenance.
Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have multiple years of experience in developing and executing brands' representation instore shaped by a good understanding of consumer insights, excellent design, and strong operational skills.

You will have experience of working and collaborating with global and market teams, building a strong network through influence. Your marketing understanding will help you design effectively securing commercial and retailers' support. Crucially, you will be very organized, highly innovative, self-motivated, and able to manage complexity and ambiguity.
