Location Coulton YO62 4NQ, located between Thirsk and Malton, North Yorkshire.
The Ian Mosey Group is a reputable and well-established family owned and operated business.

The principal activities of Ian Mosey (Feed) Ltd, a subsidiary, is manufacturing superior quality and innovative animal feed from its mill in Coulton, near York and delivering to farms across the North of England.

It has a large share of the UK market.


Job Purpose and Impact:


As a Production Operator, reporting to the Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining feed safety, a safe and clean production environment, running, and monitoring the automated blending and press lines, ensuring the continuous flow of the production process and plan attainment.

This will involve making sure all aspects of site logístical requirements, both raw materials and products are met.


We offer a starting salary of £34,000

  • Monitoring and control of all plant and utility operations, making any necessary adjustments to ensure continuous flow and plan attainment
  • Retrieving samples and testing to ensure product meets specification
  • Unloading/loading of raw materials/products using forklift truck and telehandler, overseeing unloading/loading of tankers with either powder or liquid raw materials
  • Movement of raw materials/products around site, ensuring all raw materials required in the manufacturing process are topped up and restocked as required
  • Assisting with stock taking
  • Ensuring good hygiene and housekeeping practices are adhered to by carrying out both routine and nonroutine cleaning tasks
  • Assist with preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities
  • Adhere to Company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure records are accurate and well maintained
  • Champion the use of problemsolving tools and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement

The Person:


  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • High level of attention to detail, with a right firsttime approach
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Strong work ethic with a handson approach
  • Ability to work towards deadlines and targets
  • Proficiency in using IT / process control systems
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Proactive with a flexible approach to daytoday tasks
  • Strong commitment to safety, health and environmental standards
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 25kg
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Demonstrated use of continuous improvement tools
  • Knowledge of lean / modern manufacturing principles
  • Telehandler, counterbalance and loading shovel licence
  • Shunter experience
  • HACCP/ IOSH Managing Safely
