Lead Cable Jointer/ Cable Termination and Testing EngineersPermanent position
Full-time, based in North East England.
Travel expected, including offshore projects.

- OUR CLIENT is a vital part of the green energy transformation; working on large interconnectors, offshore wind submarine cables and onshore cable systems and substations.
- OUR CLIENT is continuing a major expansion of its UK operations.
As a Lead High Voltage Power Cable Jointer, you might:
- have the opportunity to install land cables, submarine cables and accessories for OUR CLIENT in the UK and at our Client's various workplaces around the world;
- get extensive training on how to joint OUR CLIENT cables and accessories;
- Become a team leader and warehouse supervisor for our Teesside warehouse.
- Cable pulling
- Mobilisation of construction sites
- Jointing of power cables
- Installing cable terminations
- Ensuring work is safe for you and your colleagues
Additionally, a Lead Jointer will:
- Ensure high quality of craftsmanship
- Fill in installation documentation
- Splice fibre optical cables and fibres in metal tubes attached to the power cable
- Ensure seamless integration of the fibre optical cables with the power cable
- Measure the quality of the splice & fibre (e.g. OTDR measurement)
The number of travel days per year varies and the length of each assignment can vary from several days to several months.
Some assignments take place offshore, which would require you to undergo and pass a health check.Profile:
- You are a flexible person who can work under pressure and is prepared to go on short assignments. Working abroad also includes meeting other cultures and languages, something that you need to be able to handle in a good way even though English is our business language (so you'll need English language skills). You will be trained fully for whatever task you are asked to work on, but it will require commitment, great accuracy, technical aptitude and the ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Driving license class B
- Good computer skills (to communicate and register your working hours, work reports and improvement ideas in OUR CLIENT systems)
- A track record of either mechanical or electrical related work
- Drive and selfmotivation
- Willingness to improve your language and technical abilities
- Leadership & team working skills
- Project management or site management skills
- Experience with fibre optic cables
- Construction industry experience
- Experience in Medium Voltage jointing
