We have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager who will be responsible for identifying and delivering new profitable contracts to the Window and Specialist Cleaning business unit via proactive selling, competitive tendering or maximisingreactive opportunities.


You'll cultivate opportunities either from within your own self-development database or from the existing OCS communities by forging relationships with appropriate stake holders and reacting to real time requests for proposals.

By meeting your own targets, you'll support in the delivery of the overall team sales target

The successful person may be required to work alongside other teams on larger opportunities as part of a project team


You'll be able to demonstrate a track record of being able to quickly develop and build good client and customer relationships as well as demonstrating strong interpersonal skills

You'll need to have the ability to listen and understand client needs and to be able to generate a solution to these needs
The role is homebased with regular travel throughout the UK


Other Responsibilities will include:


  • To maintain and develop a wide network of contacts, building relationships in the specialist cleaning marketplace to ensure the Company is invited to as many tenders as possible
  • To represent the Company at all OCS Group meetings as required and to secure new business and build intercompany networks
  • To ensure a robust selection process is applied to all opportunities, considering capability, references, margin and competitiveness
  • To ensure that all tender responses are innovative, accurate, compliant, timely and professionally presented
  • To prepare and deliver all other aspects of the strategic sales process including awareness campaigns, presentations, exhibitions and general market collateral
  • To work alongside the sector Marketing Lead to develop strategy, marketing material and collateral to support focussed sales approach
  • To prepare and undertake a thorough handover to operational colleagues once each contract is secured
  • To assist with the collection, collation and recording of all statistical data for tender compilation, such as productivity ratings, margins and costs through Salesforce
  • To keep abreast of the current market conditions and competitor activity
  • To identify winnable opportunities and to be selective in bidding enabling at least a 1:3 win ratio

Qualifications and Experience required:


  • To be able to prioritise work effectively and work extensively on your own initiative
  • To be able to write cohesive strategy documents and tender responses detailing the unique features of the OCS offering
  • To have a particular knowledge and understanding of integrated service solutions and facilities management
  • To be actively involved in Facilities Management networking associations
  • Strong Sales experience in the commercial window cleaning sector
  • Operational experience would be desirable
  • Understanding of routes to market
  • Highly numerate and computer literate (PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
  • Must have the ability to interpret, manage and present information in an innovative manner
  • Be commercially aware with total commitment to customer service and development.
