This is an exciting opportunity for someone with either existing team leader experience or someone with a detailed knowledge of flood risk management looking to develop team leader experience to lead the flood risk analysis team for 9 months.


Reporting to the Flood Risk and Water Resources Manager this role will lead, manage, direct and motivate a team of specialist technical staff bringing a high level off influence, knowledge and operational experience to the team.


Knowledge and experience of the following:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in a science/engineering discipline or significant related vocational experience


Chartered Member or working towards membership of a relevant professional body such as Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE)/Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

Well-developed customer relation skills, with a broad knowledge of our duties and responsibilities to meet customer's needs.

Ability to understand, challenge, lead and represent NRW at all levels in technical and non-technical situations. Be able to influence and decisions to protect and enhance the environment in Wales.


The ability to work collaboratively with other team leaders throughout the organisation and proactively brief senior management teams on problems and solutions.

Must have full UK driving licence.
