We are looking to strengthen our team with the addition of an Goods Receiving Supervisor

This position is Monday is Thursday, based at our site in Burnley.

Purpose of the role


The Goods Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for the receipt, inspection, and correct handling of goods delivered to the organisation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency in the goods-receiving process.

This role is critical for maintaining inventory accuracy, upholding quality standards, and supporting operational efficiency within the supply chain.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Receiving Shipments: Supervise the unloading of goods, ensuring they are received in good condition and in accordance with delivery schedules.
  • Quality Control: Inspect the quality and quantity of received goods against purchase orders and specifications. Report and manage discrepancies or damages.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of received goods, updating inventory management systems to reflect current stock levels.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies regarding the receiving and storage of goods. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with the inventory or stock control teams to optimize stock levels and storage solutions.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to the delivery of goods, including delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in the receiving process to increase efficiency, reduce costs, or enhance service quality.

Qualifications and Experience Levels

  • Proficient with ERP systems, goods receiving processes.
  • Competent with all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in aerospace engineering principles and project management practices.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of inventory management systems and proficiency in using relevant technology and software for recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges, maintaining composure and ensuring the continuous flow of goods.

This is a permanent position based at our site in Burnley
Working a 39-hour week

6.30am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday

Salary:
£14.00-£16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
