The Growth Company has an exciting new opportunity for a Digital Creative and Tech Business Coach who will deliver high quality specialist business growth advice to a portfolio of ambitious business owners and senior managers in the Digital, Creative and Technology (DCT) sectors.


The role focuses on targeting and account managing the most progressive DCT businesses in Greater Manchester through assessing the growth potential of eligible businesses, diagnosing any barriers to advancement which may be holding back growth and agree suitable action plans to address these and release growth opportunities.

Since 2011, the Hub has supported more than 15,000 businesses including start-ups, scale-ups, and established businesses, providing finance guidance, creating international links, and paving the way for innovation and people development across the region. We work with the best of public and private partners, offering expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To develop and maintain a connection between the digital technology eco system within GM (and wider UK elements) and the Business Growth Hub, creating pipeline.
  • Work with the relevant businesses closely to monitor any outputs including new jobs created/safeguarded, any GVA increase and other service specific outputs and outcomes that result from activities undertaken.
  • Undertake detailed diagnostics on a business or a detailed diagnostic on a particular functional or business area using various tools and methods to capture baseline data from clients and identify needs, which should be addressed by developing growth action plans.
  • Making sure clients are personally introduced to those services identified as appropriate (internal and external) and monitor the delivery of these services is to support the client's strategy and/or objectives and address those barriers to growth identified.
  • Deliver bespoke DCT Sector support directly to enable them to fully meet their growth potential which typically has needed a more complex intervention; this will also include a multidisciplinary approach to support provision.

  • Understanding and experience of using project management techniques.

Skills Required:


  • At least degree level education, or equivalent experience within the DCT sector.
  • Extensive evidence of sector(s)/business experience in the private sector, including at a senior management or Director level.
  • Proven track record in managing the range of DCT sector business issues associated with periods of business growth.
  • Professional experience and approach to managing and delivering business assessment, advice and development.
  • Understanding and experience of using project management techniques.
  • Has technical knowledge in the key areas of digital, creative and technology and must be willing to constantly develop and maintain this knowledge.
  • Knowledge of budget and contract management practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key national, subregional and local organisations and their role in supporting economic development and specifically business growth.
  • Understanding of customer focused approach of working with businesses to foster engagement and encourage commitment to working towards economic development.

Salary:
£40,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
