Just Life Sciences are seeking a newly created role for Process Safety and Environmental Engineer for a Global Company


The Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for managing Process Safety work processes such as Hazard Effects Management Process activities and compliance of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) element of Process Safety Management as required by the companyand government regulations or other site Process Safety work processes.


What you'll do:


  • Provide technical expertise for Process Safety (Technical Safety) for a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Provide direct internal support and leadership of Safety Health and Environment to both production and officebased departments.
  • Provide daily support to production to maintain compliance with corporate, local and regulatory requirements, polices and standards for process safety
  • Carry out analysis of process safety events, identify trends and corrective actions, maintain process safety key performance indicators
  • Develop and execute process safety improvement plan for the site
  • Champions and participates in management of change for components and systems, processes and methods with a focus on process safety compliance
  • Ensure the maintenance and integrity of process safety data, including security report for Seveso, P&IDs, ATEX, pressure relief documentation
  • Conduct technical reviews for safety critical Operating Procedures
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis and provides technical safety lead support
  • Identify process safety training needs and conduct process safety training as needed to improve the process Safety culture and knowledge
  • Participate in the plant environmental and compliance processes
  • Support Plant process safety compliance via membership on the Safety Committee, performing required safety audits, documentation of required planned inspections and quick followup and response to safety observations that are submitted

What you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Experience in a safety specific engineering/chemical manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of process safety tools and techniques on cross functional teams
  • A strong understanding of basic chemical processes and the elements of process safety is required
  • Ability to guide and train employees
  • Demonstrated competence in the management of one or more engineering project concurrently, with emphasis on indepth technical contribution
  • Demonstrate an indepth knowledge of Safety Health and Environmental Legislation
