Adecco are proud to be working in partnership with a government department to recruit a proactive Pay and Reward Specialist on a fixed term contract basis for 2 years.


This is a key role to lead all transformational work in relation to Pay, Reward and Recognition and develop innovative solutions to policy challenges that will meet the needs of the organisation in the long term.


As the Pay and Reward Specialist you will use critical analysis and strategic thinking to develop a business case for a new capability-based approach to pay and lead on engagement with the recognised trade union on pay, reward and recognition matters, encouraging a trusted two-way relationship that supports good industrial relations.


The successful incumbent will provide specialist advice on pay, reward and benefits on an occasional basis for complex pay and reward employee relations casework, organisational design projects, and equal pay matters.


This is a truly exciting opportunity to lead on the development of a new strategic approach to pay, reward and recognition, delivering significant organisational outcomes to ensure employees are appropriately rewarded for their knowledge, experience, and performance.


  • A breadth of experience and technical knowledge regarding pay, reward, and recognition with the ability to analyse and develop strategic approaches to ensure all employees are appropriately rewarded.
  • Previous experience in developing business cases for capabilitybased pay within a highly regulated environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to influence, negotiate and consult across all levels and across government organisations including with senior leaders, trade unions and staff.
  • An understanding of employment law and employee relations.
  • Hold Chartered membership of the CIPD or equivalent professional qualification or HR knowledge with significant pay and reward specialism.
