Light Vehicle Auto electrician
Role Description:
Responsibilities:
- Identify malfunctions in vehicle electrical systems by taking readings using diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to use readings to identify faults.
- Researching faults, using manufacturer's circuit diagrams and schematics.
- Repairing or replacing faulty parts such as, defective wiring looms, safety control systems and HVAC systems.
- Retesting the systems after repair to make sure everything is working correctly and safely.
- Perform Electrical Software Downloads.
- Keeping records of all repairs either manually or on a digital data system, detailing the work done.
- Ability to carry out all tasks given effectively and on schedule in a timely manner.
- Regular attendance, time keeping and clockingin to facilitate payment.
General Responsibilities:
- Must comply with relevant health and safety regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post i.e wear personal protective equipment when appropriate.
- To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
- Ensure that the work area and tools are kept clean, tidy, and maintained.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Skills/Aptitude:
- Must possess good vision and the ability to identify different colours.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
- Flexible approach to working locations as may be asked to provide support at other sites in the UK.
- Flexible to work shift patterns, overtime, and weekends to achieve production.
- Must be psychologically and medically fit.
- Ability to work under pressure and work to very high demanding standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Level 3 City and Guilds / IMIA / BTEC / NVQ / Edexel in Auto Electrical discipline, light motor vehicle maintenance or similar.
- Level 2 Certificate / Diploma / Award in Motor Vehicle Studies (Auto Electrical Pathway).
- Level 2 City and Guilds / IMIA / BTEC / NVQ / Edexel, Level 2 Diploma in Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Principles.
- Level 2 City and Guilds / IMIA / BTEC / NVQ / Edexel, Level 2 Diploma in Auto Electrical and Mobile Electrical Competence (QCF).
- Time served apprentice essential.
- Capable of using diagnostic tools to analyse electrical faults.
- Experience working on electrical and mechanical components of modern light motor vehicles.
- Good working knowledge of the manufacture of vehicle wiring.
- A full category "B" driving license is essential.
- Experience in an automotive environment is essential.
- Must have own range of Electrical tools.
Pay Rate Per Hour:
Basic day rate:
£18
Basic night rate:
£22.50
Saturday day rate:
£22.50
Saturday night rate:
£24.50
Sunday day rate:
£23.94
Sunday night rate:
£26.94
Job Types:

£16.84-£26.17 per hour

- Solihull reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
