The Role


Creating a friendly and welcoming environment by direct approach that encourages return custom to enable branch sales and margin growth.

We are recruiting for a Yard Operative to join one of Lawson's largest Branches as a Night Yard Operative.


Working hours are 11.00am-8.00pm Monday - Thursday and pm = 40 hours per week.

Key Accountabilities

  • Cultivate and maintain exceptional standards of customer service and ensure Lawsons Best Practice, Standards and Company Policies are met
  • Assist in the company stock
  • Ensure that stock is replenished, rotated and merchandised
  • Maintain the yard to a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness
  • Build rapport, be polite and courteous to customers
  • Be vigilant to prevent loss of product by theft etc
  • Be vigilant and report any Health & Safety issues to the Line Manager immediately

We would love to meet someone with



  • A positive & approachable attitude
  • Experience working in a Builders Merchants and outside in a Yard (ESSENTIAL)
  • Good product knowledge within the Industry
  • Professionalism and who will promote and adhere to the company's value's
  • Good interpersonal skills, confidence and ability to approach customers
  • Basic literacy & numeracy skills
