    Business Focused Sales Professional

    A leading fund manager is seeking a Sales and Relationship Manager to join their team, focused on the UK Institutional Market.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Maintain existing relationships with pension funds, consultants, and advisors, while establishing new ones, to broaden awareness of investment solutions and generate new business.
    • Engage with allocated prospects to understand their investment strategy and propose tailored solutions that meet their needs.
    • Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with CIOs, pension fund managers, Trustees, Consultants, and Advisors.
    • Arrange prospect meetings involving the investment team or senior management, and prepare all participants accordingly.
    • Deliver timely follow-ups to prospect meetings and seek feedback for communication with relevant parties.
    • New Business Pitches: Attend pitches as required and assume Client Director responsibilities for successful relationships.
    • Promote the corporate message and product information across the institutional market, including pension funds, investment consultants, and independent advisor firms.
    • Contribute to prospect-focused communication materials to effectively convey key messages.
    • Marketing Support: Collaborate with the institutional marketing team on sales pitch materials, updates, newsletters, brochures, conferences, and other content.
    • Distribute relevant material produced by journalists, consultants, etc. (e.g., search trends, thought pieces, research, and surveys) to interested parties.
    • Market Insights: Stay informed about market trends and pension fund behavior, providing internal stakeholders with critical insights that may influence product development or client relationships.
    • CRM Management: Ensure effective use of CRM systems by Distribution staff, providing high-quality management information from various sources and increasing sales efforts through accurate prospect and client data maintenance.
    • Familiarize yourself with relevant regulatory and corporate policies applicable to your role.

    The ideal candidate should possess:

    • In-depth knowledge of the asset gathering process in the UK Institutional Market.
    • Previous experience in business development, demonstrating ability to develop productive relationships with existing and new prospects at various levels.
    • Articulate different investment styles and sources of differentiation to potential investors.
    • Able to identify prospect needs and suggest suitable solutions.
    • Educated to degree level; IMC certification is a plus.
    • Broad knowledge of major asset classes, such as fixed income, equities, multi-asset, alternatives, etc.
    • Able to build deep relationships with key decision-makers and senior client influencers, understanding client issues and offering solutions.
    • Effective teamwork and collaboration with colleagues to enhance the firm's reputation in the market.
    • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively to proactively develop senior-level industry relationships.
    • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop a network.
    • A strong sense of teamwork and focus on client needs.
