The Nurse led Community Intravenous Therapy Service are looking for a highly skilled and motivated service co-ordinator to support or lead on activities linked to the efficient running of the service, to enable to clinical staff to provide the clinical duties in a safe and effective manner.

The post will be full time, based at South Shore Primary Care Centre. Although a 4 or 5 day week will be expected, flexible working will be considered.


The post holder will be working within the Nurse Led Community Intravenous Therapy Service, where tasks and duties will evolve as the service develops.

It is important that the post holder is able to work flexibly, at times using their own initiative and organisational skills to complete the tasks.

As the Service Co-ordinator for the Nurse Led Community Intravenous Therapy Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Clinical Lead, as well as the Sister in Charge, with management and administration duties.

The post holder will provide high quality secretarial and administration skills in a timely manner, as well as supporting with audit and stock management.

The post holder will also be required to liaise with all members of the MDT to ensure a seamless transfer of care from secondary to primary care, therefore excellent communication skills are essential.

Attention to detail will be required to provide safe and efficient support for the IV Service and the patients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • To provide a comprehensive coordination, administrative and information service to the IV Service Clinical Lead and key stakeholders.
  • To support the Clinical Lead and Sister in Charge with the delivery of divisional business objectives taking personal responsibility for designated
  • Work in conjunction with the Clinical Lead and other directorates/divisions and relevant staff within Trust, and external agencies, to ensure the optimum administrative flow of patients through the service.
  • Responsibility for the delivery of specific key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • To assist with management duties in accordance with Trust Policies and procedures, in relation to:
  • Induction
  • Mandatory Training
  • Recruitment
  • Annual Leave
With a view to expanding these managerial tasks as the service expands.

  • To assist with other duties including;
  • Audit
  • Procurement
  • Development & expansion of the service.
  • Medical Device maintenance
  • To be actively involved in COAST assessments
  • To be actively involved in service promotion
  • To support both primary and secondary care services with the timely transfer of patients to the service to reduce unnecessary hospital admission and support appropriate early discharge.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • To develop and maintain regular staff communication e.g. regular dissemination of Team meetings.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including local authority services, to identify potential service improvements.
  • Escalate concerns to team leader and support in resolving concerns identified.
  • Establish and maintain administrative systems appropriate to the team including the use of shared drive filing systems and key performance indicator data.
  • To compile key performance indicator reports for activity reports as requested by Team Leader and Head of Service.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported on the Trust's Untoward Incident Reporting system.
  • Reorganise and reassign support workers rotas following sickness notification.
  • Act as first point of contact for the team and coordinate all enquiries.
  • To establish and maintain a support network for all new support staff and bench staff.
  • To ensure that all administrative procedures are carried out in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • To maintain the daily administrative duties of the service including establishing and maintain effective filing system, complying with data protection.
