Job title:
IT Support Assistant
You will work as part of our IT Services team to provide support for our entire IT infrastructure, and our globally dispersed user base.
You will be key to assuring the department operates at top efficiency by helping to adopt industry best practises, maintain compliance, and maintain our written policies and procedures.
Technology exposure will include both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure consisting of a deep Microsoft stack including Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
Experience of the latest Microsoft client and server products is essential as you will be supporting both client and server environments.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitor ticketing system and response to the issues in timely manner
- Escalate tickets/requests to senior support engineers where necessary
- Provide technical support, training and guidance for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
- Carry out general network administration duties e.g. create/modify users, passwords, adding file & printer shares
- Undertake routine maintenance and monitoring of network infrastructure, hardware, company laptops and other devices
- Carry out installation and setup of laptops, computers and help users moving IT equipment when seating positions change
- Help maintain uptodate documentation of all hardware and software, processes and troubleshooting topics
- Support employees on training and learning
- Log all jobs on our ticketing system
- Escalate IT issues to IT Support Engineers and/or the IT Manager, where necessary
What we are looking for
- Exceptional customer service skills with a real service mindset
- Experience with Office IT hardware
- Building and fixing
- Any previous IT experience would be beneficial
- Some knowledge of networking
- Passion for technology and willing to learn various things
- Experience of providing first to third level support
- Experience of working in a structured environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Strong organisational and time management skills
