**About us: **Research England's mission is to create and sustain the conditions for a healthy and dynamic research and knowledge exchange system in English higher education (HE) providers. In June 2018 we established the Research England Development (RED) Fund,which provides targeted investment in English HE providers to stimulate innovative projects that respond to our strategic priorities for research and knowledge exchange.

**About the role: **The RED Fund Policy Adviser will support the successful operation of the Fund. This includes responsibilities for managing and supporting continuous development, such as the proactive management of funded projects and processes. The successful postholder may also be required to support managing funding calls for projects to address specific policy related issues.


What the role will include:


  • Responsible for supporting the Head of the RED Fund in the maintenance of policies, processes. and procedures for the fund, and any ongoing or periodic reviews including evaluation of the scheme.
  • Working with providers, colleagues across Research England, and any stakeholders (e.g. Research Councils) to facilitate proposals to the fund.
  • Managing the tracking of proposals, including the pipeline of potential projects, to help us understand the likely call on the fund and progress against the budget.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the RED Fund, responding to queries, providing clear advice to providers, and liaising with colleagues where required.

  • You will have strong analytical skills and an ability to evaluate and interpret information (quantitative and qualitative, but particularly the latter) to form judgements and make appropriate recommendations
  • The ability to manage own workload, resolve competing demands and cope with changing priorities in a flexible and proactive way
  • Being able to forward plan, using foresight with the ability to anticipate forthcoming situations and planning time and resources accordingly
  • To be able to communicate with people at all levels, in a clear, concise, and fluent manner
